Aka Munterdove, the church was annexed to the priory of Whithorn in 1381. The parsonage fruits were thereafter retained, while the vicarage appears to have frequently been held by a canon (CPP i, 564; RS, 446, 51; Ailsa Muniments nos. 313, 658; Testament of Mathew Fleming; Deeds, xl, 205). Cowan 1967, 122. Not mentioned in Shennan 1892.
