Notes

The NGR given is for the medieval church of Killarrow, demolished when the new parish church was built at Bowmore in 1769 (NMRS). Although the parish is now called Killarrow and Kilmeny, which might suggest that the modern parish is an amalgamation of two earlier ones, Cowan says of Kilmeny that 'This church apparently lay within the parish of Killarrow in Islay, no record of it possessing a separate parochial existence having been discovered' (1967, 105; citing OPS II, i, 261).
