Introduction

Ó Riain 1985 index has 'Fintan ie Berach?' This seems to relate to no. 410.1 (not part of CGSH corpus proper) which lists various saints of Clann Branáin, a people in County Roscommon. Three of these people, Conchenn, Failbe Finn and Dachúa appear in Berach’s Life, and a fourth, Fintan, may represent Berach himself: that is his baptismal name, according to his Irish Life, BNE Plummer, ch. 16, p 25.
