Notes

At this site is marked also 'Chapel Finian Well' on OS Maps. Excavation of this site in 1950 revealed some foundations and lower walls of a mortared rectangular stone chapel, surrounded by a possibly earlier drystone wall. OS Survey in 1977 remarked that the drystone wall 'encloses the chapel in a manner characteristic of Early Christian sites' (NMRS).
