Notes

The island on which this chapel stands is called Holy Island in 1726 (Geog. Coll. i, 190). OSA (1792) states that 'Ealan na Coomb had formerly a chapel and burial place in it, traces of which are still to be seen' (OSA 3, 521). NMRS indicates that there are no remains of any chapel, but at NC66426428 there are the remains of a curvilinear enclosure 'of unknown date and purpose'.
